A 5 – Infographic

Task
Create ONE Infographic to illustrate an article on the topic of climate change. The theme ‘Climate Change’ could refer to causes and consequences of global warming, deforestation etc, and/or how do we help to improve the situation.

My initial idea was to use a centralised, highly detailed image of the Earth in full colour. Then the information and icons that depict their corresponding information are surrounding the Earth. These surrounding icons and words are drawn in a doodle style, having a stark contrast in the highly detailed image of the Earth.

However, comments were that the surrounding elements have no (physical and visual) link to the central image, and thus it doesn’t feel like an infographic.

Final Prototype:

Here is my final prototype. Most of my infographic is based on the data “Annual Greenhouse Gas Emissions by Sector” provided in the article. I made use of the font size to scale the percentage numbers.

Greenhouse emissions are on the rise, and this is causing global warming.
